It honestly just look like you cut the dog out of this photo: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia… before you put a filter on it and used the smudge tool to make it look drawn.

I used this picture as reference picture so they look the same.
I use real pictures as a template to draw the animals as real as possible.
