Here's a sketch I did of Soundwave as a recolor of Starscream from the undercooked Transformers toy line called Machine Wars. The toy began its life as the European exclusive Skyquake, and was recolored as TF Universe's King Atlas and, before that, as the Machine Wars version of Starscream.

The thing about this toy is that it is such an incredibly poor match for Starscream. It's dark, somber, imposing, and ominous -- everything Starscream isn't. The toy is a much better match for Soundwave, in my opinion... a match which is enhanced by the presence of a freakin' DOOR ON THE CHEST.

Based on this opinion of mine, I'm coloring this pic in Machine Wars colors [link] , G1 Soundwave's colors [link] , Japan-exclusive Soundblaster's colors [link] , Skyquake's colors [link] , and King Atlas's colors [link] .

I banged this out in pencil (didn't ink it, just scanned it and adjusted the levels and such), grabbed a stormy sky offa Google, and did some speedlines/rain stuff so that it had some context. Mostly I did this for the color experiments.
