Banagi was one of the highest in rank in his clan, incredibly smart and respected for a male, he was also pretty big and strong, rivaling with the females since cubhood.
He was under the direct orders of Baasho, the mate of the matriarch who led the clan during Mohatu's reign and also the father of Sheria, the next matriarch and Banagi's mate.
They became leaders at a pretty young age, after Sheria's mother died because of a rogue lion; together they signed the downfall of their clan, starting with disrespecting hunting laws to flat out attacking pride members who got too close to their zone.
He loved and followed Sheria almost blindly, with her he was the one that led the massive attack against the royal pride, just days after Ahadi's coronation; in the fight Banagi was the one that took the life of the old king and made the most victims.
However in the end they lost and were forced to retreat back to the Elephant graveyard, where they remained instead of traveling to a better place, all because they saw the Prideland as their own.
After becoming father he slowly retired from the plans of revenge, focusing more on his family and even trying to convince his mate to leave, but Sheria was not up for it and in the end even started manipulating the king's youngest son, Taka.
He died of old age during the beginning of Scar's reign.

Anyway, here is my interpretation of Banagi, who was the main antagonist in the early scripts of the film, I made him the trio's father and the mate of the crazy matriarch who got the clan to be exiled.

I have to be honest I thought drawing hyenas would have been harder, good thing I was wrong eh?

On a side note I've been putting off working on so much stuff (also because of school), one of the references I was working on was started so long ago that the anatomy is just painful to work with, but I need to finish it anyway and I just can't do it all again, especially since the only thing that really bugs me is the torso (but that would mean doing all of it from scratch)
