Description
This was the most incredible storm, it was actually the third night of storms we had here in South Australia, before Christmas, which is really strange. It brought the most beautiful lightning and rain, the best combination for a walk in the darkThis is directly north of my house, its my farm ... there are no towns behind that hill, just farmland and a national park. Its last years almost ripened barley crop
I hope you enjoy this image, and get the same sort of feeling that I did when I was there, it was amazing

This piece reminds me of an American painting, not that I can recall the name of it, but the colours of both the field and the storm are very similar and that painting is an American classic. This shot is really well handled and is quite beautiful, it seems a little bare, like it could do with the addition of a barn or something in the distance, but you can only work with what you've got right? I think you've done a top job with this, it's sharp, well laid out, the colours are perfect and you were in the right place at the right time. A favourite for sure.

Thankyou! Thankyou heaps. I'm not sure I know what you mean, but I'm sure you are right!
Yes, I thought that it was a bit bare too, thats why I hesitated in submitting it. But overall the colours were just too amazing not too. As for the barn ... Well I've just submitted a new deviation which shows the entire shot of this ... theres a shed there hehe. Thanks for your comment

I love how colors become so bright right before a bad storm. This definitely captured that.

Yeah, in this particular shot, we never got rain or anything, just distant thunder and lightning. Glad you like!
