Description there is a billboard that i pass frequently that hasnt been changed in eons. so it's fairly weatherbeaten and has missing parts and lots and lots of pieces from different layers. i always catch it out of the corner of my eye because the textures are just so yummy to the eye. apparently it worked it's way into my creative subconscious because when i step back and look at this it reminds me of said billboard. -- at least my interpretation of it.

(and to think i thought i was just doing some sort of free form abstract composition).

i'm not sure i can write coherently after reading aspect-ratio's comment so i'll just say that those billboards are cool, but they've got nothing on this. another stunning tradigital work.

Wonderfully done. I love the subtltey of this. The sense of what is trully on the inside will be shown on the outside. It feels open to me, like it's vulnerable.

67shadesofgrey [2006-01-25 17:33:09 +0000 UTC]

you pack so much detail into such a relatively small area... though i don't care as much for the colors here as i have in some of your other pieces, they still work together.
looks like a subway station masterpiece.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

gregoriousone In reply to 67shadesofgrey [2006-01-25 20:13:44 +0000 UTC]

i do tend to pack into detial-- it's all about visual texture with me. too bad some of the detail got lost. when i create these images they are done at 300ppi-- and shrinking them down so that the files are only a few hundred kilobytes compresses some of that detail. ahh.. the limits of technology.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

67shadesofgrey In reply to gregoriousone [2006-01-27 15:27:50 +0000 UTC]

man, that's too bad... they're impressive now, i can't imagine how good they'd look with even more detail to 'em. very very good.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

gregoriousone In reply to 67shadesofgrey [2006-01-27 19:56:52 +0000 UTC]

thanks.. it's the nature of the technology-- luckily enough detail shows through on dA.. it also shows up on the prints too.
