Description
Fanart for my favorite movie. I originally intended to do just a pen sketch of Pan; however, Pan's Labyrinth is such a beautifully dark film, I had to add Ofelia in there as well. I tried to give her a feeling of being trapped within her own escapist fantasy, as most people can become lost within themselves when they're trying to cope with something tragic, so I played with Pan's hair falling around her and locking her within the page. From there, it was just fun with textures till the end.If you haven't seen this movie, you should really watch it (though be warned, it's a little violent).

I love the crypticness of this piece. It's eerie yet beautiful. I love how the details are so exact and include so many different elements in the story. Keep up the awesome work!

Thanks! I love how aesthetically eerie the movie is, so I really wanted to make a piece that captures that. I'm glad it seems to have worked out.

My only critique is that I think her shoulders are a little broad for a young girl. It makes her body look a little squished to me. Besides that, lovely. I especially like the eyes and nose area--very realistic.

I think I see what you're saying. I tend to make shoulders either too wide or too narrow - hopefully the Life Drawing studio I'm taking this Fall will help. Thanks!
