Title page:
Crossing Borders - page 0 (title page)

Page 1: That looks like it hurts.

The first page of a new comic project I'm doing. This is a 12-page short story in full color. It will feature at least one character you might recognize from my gallery.

Created mainly in MyPaint, with adjustments and processing in Krita and textures/texts/watermarks done in GIMP.

For this I'm experimenting with black outlines which I usually don't use. No doubt I will find my footing better as we go along. Comments and feedback is highly appreciated!

EDIT: Made some updates to texturing and shadows based on feedback. Thanks!

You really have an awesome style! I Especially like the colors and lightning. The golem-like creature is very expressive even if we can only see the eyes. Can't comment much about the story because I can only see 2 pages but the start is promising.

Thanks a lot, experimenting with lighting and color is always interesting, glad you like it!

Another page is up btw, elaborating further on that "golem-like creature". We'll see where it goes from there.

Interesting project; was wondering if anybody used primarily MyPaint for a comic book. Lookin good so far

Yep, MyPaint works just fine for comics works. There is even a special "background" with rows of thumbnail templates to use for prototyping comic pages. One has to bounce the image into other programs for the final touches but MyPaint is worthwhile for the actual painting part.

Thanks for the comment and fave!
