its actually a line graph, the whole design is based on linegraphs. The heads are like lines (with the x and y) and the little bowtie like thing is the cross you make when the lines meet. The tail is a line graph, which can unfold if they feel like making linegraphs.

If you look up the tutorial I use to draw lineless in flash its the same process but I just add gradients now xD
