Awesome. Studying it is lots of fun, but if you actually want to do it for a living, expect 8-10 years of exam hell followed by a job search akin to finding that infamous needle in a haystack. I'm actually studying archaeology (with a focus on biological remains), since the field is a little broader...but not by much.

Ah the real world. Ergh. I hadn't really thought about that part yet, but now that you've said it I can't imagine that job openings would be yawning under one's feet. I guess I'll start looking into the stuff along the broader lines of similar fields. Thanks very much for the input, I really appreciate it.
Archaeology sounds like a glamourous profession, but I imagine it's a lot of poking around in libraries and kneeling in the dirt. Still, it would be soooo fun.
