Description
Papa (who is not amused) and Matt Smurf (who is shocked) react to the infamous 2011 live-action/CG hybrid Smurfs movie, which came after the 1976 Belgian animated film adaptation of "The Smurfs and the Magic Flute" from Belvision Studios (predating the 1980s cartoon series from Hanna-Barbera). Both were not pleased with the results because it wasn't being true to the source material. The Smurfs © Peyo/Hanna-Barbera/Warner Bros.

Still, the 2011 movie seriously has anything to do with the title itself.

that's true, but at least the second movie was better then the first one. (more focus on the smurfs and and the story of smurfette like the movie of the lost village)

Yeah, but it was more like of an early version of the story (except there were no other Smurfettes). It was before the producers decided to ditch both Raja Gosnell and Neil Patrick Harris altogether, thus Sony brought in Kelly Asbury to help remake the sequel as a fully-animated film entitled, Smurfs: The Lost Village.
The animation in Lost Village is more true to the source material, at least. But the problem in the story is that the original comics and the modern 2010s decade don't mix well together. It still used pop songs of the day in its soundtrack, and therefore pop songs should not be placed in The Smurfs universe.... EVER.

At least, Hank Azaria's protoyal as Gargamel was very funny.

Matt Smurf: What kind of monstrosity would make this trash? This isn't an adventure, this is a romantic comedy that just happens to have us in it. And why is the movie more focused on Neil Patrick Harris? This doesn't make any sense.

I used to like this movie back in 2011, but now it's "meh" to me.

Yeah, and this was before I first discovered the 1980s cartoon series in late 2011, and then regaining my interest in the franchise ever since "Smurfs: The Lost Village"'s release.

Yep. I saw that.
I actually enjoyed "Smurfs: The Lost Village" more than the live-action films.

I just despise the first two movies because they weren't true to the comics or the cartoon series.
