Description Despite being non-canon the Cyclone has always been one of my favorite TIE's. For the uninitiated, the original TIE Cyclone is a fan created variant (It has appeared many times so I can't find the original source but I can trace it back to at least 2012) described as a replacement for the interceptor. Built on a standard TIE hull and without all the super expensive specialty features it was much cheaper than the Defender, while it's light frame and third solar array made it extremely fast and one of the most nimble fighters ever produced.

There are many variants I have seen out there in terms of size, layout and weapons, but all of them roughly follow the same template. Like the Old School Defender, I wanted to create something that wasn't just built on existing specs. Instead of following the imperial kitbash nature I just wanted to start from the ground up, building on the spirit of the design while seeing what I could do when trying to create a genuinely better TIE fighter. The result was this.

As MarcusStarkiller pointed out to me, the fact that I enlarged the cockpit window and shortened the wings slightly makes it look a lot smaller than it actually is, this is indeed about the size of a regular Defender or Cyclone. Along with increasing the size of the front viewport I have also added secondary viewports on the sides, as well as smaller rear windows inspired by the "over the shoulder" windows you see in older WWII fighter canopies. The wings are placed in the orientation they are for visibility as well, many Cyclones I've seen have the wings rotated 180 degrees from here, putting the two wings on top and one wing underneath, but I feel this would give the pilot much greater visibility out of those side windows. The wings are, based on interceptor wings but the dimensions themselves have changed dramatically. The wings are shorter but broader and the notch between the two "halves" is wider, again for increased peripheral visibility. Like the traditional Cyclone the ship has six laser cannons on the three wings, but I also added two missile launchers on the side of the cockpit with three missiles in each. On the upper left side is a (comm? shield? sensors?) antenna array like you see on special forces TIE's, and on the right is an (admittedly small) cockpit hatch.
