Kovu felt overjoyed with happiness when he saw two small fur balls frolicking around and biting his wife’s paw.

“Kovu! You are a father!” Kiara exclaimed, teary-eyed.
“I-I.. “ Kovu stammered.
“Is everything okay? Are you nervous to be a dad?” Kiara asked, worried, noticing the shock on Kovu’s face.
Kovu looked deeply into Kiara’s eyes and began to cry. He couldn’t believe it! He was a father! He had never felt this much happiness in his life! Him- born in grief, raised in hate, yet somehow he defied his fate. He had a beautiful, strong, amazing mate that he loved dearly and now two tiny cubs! Of his own! He was in disbelief!
“No... they are perfect!” Kovu said, a smile spreading across his face, still crying.

“Oh, Kovu! You will be a great father!” Kiara said, nuzzling her mate. She had never seen him this vulnerable. He keeps surprising me. He is such a sweetheart, Kiara thought.
Kovu looked at his son and daughter.
And everything- all the pain, the anxiety, the sadness went away.
Everything was perfect in that moment.
Lionesses and Simba and Nala heard the news and surrounded the new family members.
Everyone buzzed with excitement.
After a few hours, the cubs had opened their eyes.
Rafiki and Makini were ready to present them. Kovu and Kiara looked at Rafiki and nodded.

It is time.

Yes, I did change Kiara’s design! I kept her colors because I feel like she has a good mix pelt of Nala and Simba. And yes, I quoted a song from the lion king 2 ^^ (let’s just see if you can guess it). The cubs are Khaila (brown one- girl and older) and Denali (golden one- boy and younger)! They are my OCs. I hope you like!
