Description
I kneeled beside one of the bushes, carefully resetting one of my snares. They were easy to understand - unlike the rest of my life.

Suddenly, I heard a high-pitched scream. I jumped up, and ran towards the sound. I finally found Katniss, sitting on the ground, holding her knee. Her face was twisted in pain, and I could see that she was near tears.

"What did you do, Catnip?" I asked calmly, kneeling beside her.

"It's my knee. I think I twisted it," She muttered, staring at the ground. "Alright. Gale, you go and get some supplies from my mother, because there's no way I'm having her come out here, and then we'll try and fix my knee-"

I cut her off, staring at her in disbelief. "Katniss, don't be stupid. You can't even heal a paper cut, and I'm not much better. I'll carry you home."

Her eyes widened. "You won't be able to carry me, Gale, I-I'm-"

I rolled my eyes at her, cutting her off again. "Sure I can, Catnip." I hefted her into my arms, and noticed that she really was as light as a feather. No wonder she could climb so high. I tried to ignore that fact how she fit perfectly in my arms. I tried to ignore all those feeling about her, the ones I'd been having lately. They would just end up destroying what we already had.

I noticed that her cheeks were tinged a bright pink. I tried to ignore it.

"You better not drop me, Gale," She warned, glaring up at me. But I could see that she really was grateful, she just didn't want to show it. Typical Katniss.

"Please. You're as light as a feather," I said. Katniss went quiet for a while, and a hushed silence fell over the two of us, like a blanket. Finally, I spoke.

"You really did a job on yourself this time, Catnip," I said, shaking my head at her.

"Oh, shut up, Gale. I didn't scold you all the way home when you broke your arm falling out of a tree." She retorted, her bright grey eyes laughing despite her tone.

"Maybe. But it's fun to tease you, you see," I said, chuckling.

"You won't be able to see if you laugh at me again," She warned, punching my arm.

"You're getting rusty, Catnip. That one barely hurt," I said and we approached the fence.

"Shut up, Gale."

I looked up at the fence, wondering how I could get Katniss out of here without hurting her knee any more than it already was.

"You're just going to have to crawl under, I'm afraid," I said, casting a worried glance over at her. I let her down out of my arms, and she flattened out on the ground, and wriggled through the hole in the fence.

Her face constricted with pain, and after I crawled through the fence, I rushed over to help her. She attempted to calm her expression. "I'm fine, I'm fine. I can handle a little pain."

I picked her up in my arms and carried her through the dusty old Seam. Compared to the woods, you could barely breathe here, the air was so polluted.

As we entered her house, her mother and sister rushed over to help her. I laid her down gently on her bed, and Prim and her mother tended to her, asking her all sorts of questions. Finally, as I turned to leave, she called out at me.

"Thanks, Gale. I appreciate it." She said, and when I looked over my shoulder I saw she was grinning at me.

"Anytime, Catnip. I'll always be here for you."
