Here's "A Very Small Guide" on how to create trails my way!
This is not meant to be a step-by-step tutorial, but to be a small reminder that playing around and experiments will help you eventually! Furthermore it only explains the real basics of my technique.
Also, I was using photoshop and windows for this tutorial.
Basic knowledge about photoshop is required I think, as, again, this isn't step by step at all.
All example pictures in my guide are from my own gallery.
This is a technique I have developed on my own, there might be others who have the same way of doing things, and that is cool and fine and all
But what is even better, is, that there are completely different ways of doing trails, as well!
Check out for example
So don't follow each of my steps like a madman, but try to understand the basics I tried to convey.
On another note: Don't forget to participate in the contest!

This is a great tutorial and a cool trick for creating trails! I'm waiting on my first tablet to be delivered in just a few days. Will most likely use this on an upcoming piece...just couldn't get it right. Thanks!

Hey, do you have some sort of effective way of making rocketships or other random spaceships?? I tried once and used this. The only thing that looked good was the trail. I suck as ships.

hi!
it's pretty simple to be honest, as it follows the same procedure for everything.
you can start by blocking in rough shapes and go more and more into detail
this guide might be of some help:
