[Previous Tutorial] [First Tutorial]An introduction to what vector graphics are and how to make them in flash
this is part of a series of flash tutorials I am writing that will start out for the complete novice and work up to some pretty advanced flash scripting, animation etc so that more people have a chance to experiment with what flash can do for them. if you need help just note me
part four will cover more vector graphics stuff but be more on how to do certain things rather than how to use the tools, and it should fix any problems you suffer from playing around after this tutorial.
(also, if you have suggestions of how I can improve this tutorial or better express how cool vector graphics are to budding young artists let me know

thx i usually "flash"thru til thing are happening but if you get it plain and exactly (with a bit too much, and it's a compliment usually it isn't complete and what seems easy can be very anoying when you just wanted that one thing to work how you want) well really looking forward for part 4 and thx again for a good tutorial i hope the rest will be the same thx

Great tutorials. im hoping ill be able to understand your actionscripting tuts. ive known how to do basic vector (what youve gone over so far.) for a while now but everything i know youve gone over so i cant wait for next one. hopefully i can do flash better than other art forms XD (considering most of the best flash stuff is simply cartoonish! yay!) Also, maybe im not as bad as i think! im getting a tablet because im sick of trying to draw with my mouse XD maybe that will help.

getting a tablet is one of the coolest things you can do, drawing with a mouse is like sound recording without a microphone
also I'll be taking everything step by step so the tuts should be easy to follow

a tablet is a piece of hardware like a mouse or a keyboard, but it works just like a normal pen or pencil. I'd check out you're nearest computer (maybe even an art) shop or google 'tablet'. I would reccomend the brand 'wacom' as thats what I've found best. I hope that helps

thats cool, I had to save for a while before I got my first one... see if you can try before you buy though. most schools and colleges should have one these days so you can get the hang of using them

Ooh this is really nice. Are you going to do any actionscripting tutes or just stick to graphics? And are you going to teach anything like the vector art that NCH85 does? ^^

I'm covering all I know on flash, so yep, these will work their way onto scripting, as far as doing the kind of stuff NCH does I can tell you how flash can acheive that, but to actually make it happen is where the art comes in, NCH's style is NCH's style

Yep. And by the way, I have used some of NCH85's technique for my own animations. He's a great learning source.
