Don't be fooled.... before Howard Chaykin created Dominic Fortune (for Marvel) and American Flagg, he created a mercenary for hire in the days prior to World War II named the Scorpion for Atlas Seaboard. Theses heroes all look alike. Chaykin only did 2 Scorpion stories for Seaboard before he left.Info on Atlas Seaboard can be found here: [link]

Well they are apples and oranges- but of course the Chaykin version is the best. I love in a weird way how every character was turned into a jumpsuited superhero- no matter what, as soon as sales dipped! It was kind of entertaining in a wacky way.
