Description
I decided to remake this piece from 2017 because I really like it.

History:
The first successful military mech of the Russian Federation and Japan, Mech 5 ‘Роботец’, or at least kind of.

The mech was very reliable and mobile in all kinds of terrain. It had a serviceable missile shield and a good armament too - 2 high-caliber guns, 3 anti-tank missiles, and one minigun. The machine unlike the future more modern mechs couldn't operate autonomously and required one pilot to operate. Despite this, the controls were said to be very intuitive and its systems were very advanced at the time. The lucky few who got the chance to operate it were very satisfied with it.

Unfortunately, the mech wasn’t selected for mass production. M-5 was just too vulnerable to attacks from most high caliber weapons, anti-tank land mines, missiles, etc. because the leg construction didn’t allow for more armor to be added. Furthermore, the fact that one unit already cost slightly more than an average T-80 main battle tank didn’t help it either.
The Russians tried to repurpose the machine for civilian and scout purposes but its already high cost ruined its chances on the public market.

The project started in the Cold War and was stopped due to budget restraints. The project was revived in the middle of 2010 and was completely finished in 2025.
Although M-5 failed it was one of the first mech type machines suitable for military use and paved the way for the rise of the future bipedal main battle tanks.
