Description
<-- complete suitPeople have been asking how I made my MLP FIM Applejack and I just felt it could be easier if I posted a pic about what is inside the suit.
1 & 2
So there is the headpiece. It's a styrofoam ball with a piece of foam rubber as a muzzle. I have covered the eyes with three layers of black tulle.
3
Here are the shinparts of the suit. There are basketball shoes inside.
4
The thighpieces and the hooves of hands...

How big of a styrofoam ball did you have to get? This has me thinking about trying to make my own pony cosplay...

Ummm it was about 30cm or so. But please don't use styrofoam, use foam rubber instead and make it ball shaped by your self.Β
You just can't breath inside styrofoam. Even you have the huge holes as your eyes you can't get enough air.Β
I used styrofoam ONLY becouse I ran out of time and this was the fastest way to make this. Seriously.

Yeah, I thought so. I would have made a ball of rubber foam anyway, I just was curious about the dimensions.

No. It's a styrofoam ball so it was already hollow

I'm planning on making a pony partial, I wanted to ask how well the styrofoam ball worked for you.
Does it fit well? Does it get ridiculously hot inside? Is it difficult to carve? I'm very curious as to how well the styrofoam ball works as I've heard styrofoam isn't a great type of foam to work with.

Do you have any ideas on keeping cool in these? I have a DJ Pon-3 outfit I made last year, but it's tough to wear after an hour or two since it gets ridiculous in it. I swear it took a year off my life.
