I made a gemsona because Steven Universe is literally the greatest show on the planet and i needed a dumb gay space rock. I don’t know if it counts as a GEM but it’s my favorite.
I chose Trinitite which is basically irradiated glass created by a nuclear bomb. So she’s radioactive and her eyes/teeth glow and she’s got a third arm because it seemed to fit the theme. She likes to shapeshift.
I’m still working on her story stuff but she’s a Homeworld Gem and she’s partners with Owen’s gemsona Fire Opal (who she fuses with to make Angel Aura who is terrifying). I feel like she was one of those ‘made for the war’ kind of gems?? I’ll have to extend on it as the show progresses. :U

i have a story idea for her:
She was created during an interplanetary war that occurred as homeworld was in the last stages of defeating an spacefaring alien civilization. apparently she was just about finished incubating when a nuclear bomb fired from the alien race hit the kindergarten and both destroyed and doused the area in radiation. she emerged just as she is now.

Personally I believe that when dealing with homeworld, all out nuclear war is the final option so this backstory would work
