You make the blood look really realistic, It's a painful/dark kinda red. Is there a special way you get this? (i imagine having a 'burn' layer?) whenever I try to do blood/injuries it looks like ketchup

For this drawing, I colored it in a program called "Paint tool sai" which has a layer option called "Shade" that gives a really good effect, but normally a very good advice is to rather than using plain red, to pick a red with a little bit of brown in it. When blood dries, it gets really brown, and so I think adding orange/brown to it makes it more realistic. And I rarely use burn layer, actually, I mostly stick to multiply! c: And then sometimes you can add another layer on top of that with "overlay" maybe, to make some light areas and some dark

Also, i think he tripped and fell face-first on the pavement while running to the sweet-shop dressed as a pirate and now to his friends he's all like "whoa, I totally got into this HARDCORE fight with some guys! It was sick!" but really, he was just sitting on the pavement crying for half and hour...
but that's only a guess.
