Description
Personally, Hearth water to be comforting. It was soothing, it was quiet, it was everything the little wyngling could ask for. And today, when the sun beat down on Wynsiph with merciless persistence, Hearth couldn't help but find his way to the nearest body of water. He tested the water first, dipping a tentative claw in before squeezing out of the bell collar and placing it gently on the grass beside him. Couldn't have it getting wet after all! After a quick check of his surroundings, he slid into water, sighing with delight as he was immediately cooled. He spent a few moments hovering at the edge of the water before paddling out a little farther. He enjoyed swimming. Paddling through the water felt powerful, as if he had command of nature itself, and it was genuinely a great way to burn off any extra energy he had. He took a few laps before coming back to solid ground to rest. The little wyngling shook himself out before flopping down on the grass. After the cold water, sunbathing didn't sound like a bad idea. He stretched out, relaxed for the first time in weeks. The sun felt pleasant on his skin, and he found his eyelids getting heavier. The world blurred, and the noises around him became muted. Hearth closed his eyes.
Hearth opened his eyes. The sun was gone now, and the air was colder. Hearth felt his heart thump in his chest. It was dark now, there was no one to protect him. He quickly sat up, snapping up his bell collar and placing it back around his neck. He stood to face the forest. Behind him, the water lapped at the ground. What had been so welcoming before had now become menacing. The forest itself had changed. Every sound was now amplified, every small animal seemingly bigger. Something had to be lurking in the shadows, waiting for the moment to snap him up in its jaws. Hearth trembled as he swallowed his fear. He had to get back to Aurin's house. There was where safety was.
Funny, he constantly berated himself in the daytime for taking up the orange wyngro's space, but now it was his first and only choice. He scurried along the dark trail, every molecule in his body on high alert. At the slightest hint of danger, he would bolt, find somewhere to hide until the threat had passed.
He heard a twig snap behind him.
In an instant, Hearth was off, running recklessly through the woods until he could no longer run. He slowed to a stop, panting heavily and listening behind him. There seemed to be nothing. Whatever was chasing him, if anything was chasing him, had given up. Good. The little gray wyngling raised his head, looking around. He had left the trail in his panic, but somehow he felt he vaguely recognized this part of the woods. A little bit of walking revealed why as he came across the clearing with the falling tree out of which he and Kiki had built a fort when he still lived at the nook. He glanced around. there seemed to be nothing here. Perhaps he could utilize the fort for the night.
As he slipped inside, he felt drowsiness hit him like a brick. Oddly enough, despite the fact that it wasn't as stable, the fort felt more welcoming and safer than Aurin's house. He didn't feel like he was intruding here, like he was being a burden to someone else. He slid down to lay on his stomach, a rested his head on his front leg. He squinted. In the darkness, there was something that might have been another body on the other side. No, couldn't be, he and Kiki were the only ones who knew about this fort. As he dozed off once again, he chalked it up to an oddly shaped rock that he probably just hadn't remembered. Yeah, probably just a rock. He has to stop being scared of everything.
He drifted off to sleep.

Duuude heckin yeah.
Kiki would probably just lay down and fall asleep right next to him, and then ask and check if he is ok in the morning.
Then she might try and get him to "hunt" with her, which is usually acting like she is going to kill a prey but then ending up eating bugs and berries because she is still a fricken child and doesnt even have teeth yet
