Description Was fortunate to capture this while trying to get pictures of lightning. Actually saw it arc upwards before striking downward.

Not so hard when the storm is coming at you and you're using a digital camera that takes successive shots. I just set the exposure time and held down the button until I got something. Luck helps, of course

Wow! That's really lucky. It's a beautiful shot. For a moment I thought you'd gone mad and dragged a Photoshop brush over the middle of the lightning... it looks very strange and spooky and I like it.
