Amazing, it's really hard to get pictures of lightning unless you have a lot of patience in most cases. I got one really good picture of lightning and that's it. The rest were baaaad. Anyway, that's so cool that it kind of looped like that! Great picture!

when i saw this photo as a thumbnail i was like No way,that can't be possible! so i just had to see the whole thing,and even your comments on it.i thought it was edited in some way,because the whole capture has something surreal about it.seeing lightning arch like that... it's simply stunning!and from the looks of it it must have struck pretty close too.

lightnin actually starts from the ground moves its way up and then down, i think, in any case nice shot, how long was this exposure for?, ey when you get a chance, check out my gallery, i would greatly appreciate it, thanks

I can't remember the exact exposure time off the top of my head, but I think the exposure was around 1 to 1.5 seconds.
And I do seem to remember something from science class that lightning is actually two "threads", one from ground and one from sky, connecting. But it did appear to loop down from the sky and strike.
Nice gallery. It looks like you're more committed to photography than I ever was. For me it was a kind of passing passion. I'll be putting up some more pictures when I make the time for it.
