Um...I dunno if sphinxes are supposed to have wings... But, uh...this one does. *nods* Just an idea I got during class. That's where most of my masterpieces come from. When I'm bored in class. I might put this one on unlined paper and color it if I get bored again. First time I've ever drawn a sphinx-ey thing. *is proud of the way it turned out...even though it has wings...*Related content

Male Sphinx's have very large wings whilst females have smaller more golden wings.
trust me, i know my egyption and oriental 
now the pic is perfect 'cept for the ears, Sphinx's have lion ears.

Winged sphinx are called oriental sphinxes.

Sphinxes usually have wings, if you go into Greek mythology the sphinxes have wings... did I just say that out loud!!

Well, the typical Egyptian Sphinx does not have wings, no matter the style. The only known Greek one from Oedipus, however, does.
Good to know that looseleaf doodles are approved of, here. Yours is very cute, too! As in, "makes me want to hug it" cute.

I don't know if Sphinxes are supposed to have wings....but either way it looks kawaii to me! lol If I ever started drawing in class, the teacher would have my head on a silver platter in one millisecond. Seriously. And I'm only in 7th grade....really. Oo;;
