Faced south, he found a wasted valley spreading towards the east and west filled with armies and legions of Gorthans. The clouds were blotting the Skies of Night, and the airs were filled with a dark mist. Before him was a great grove of mountains, with a great valley that broke in its center which stretched many miles width, east and west, and many miles length, north and south. Upon the east side was a tower of two thousand feet in height. The west side also had a tower, identical both as black, and then in the deep center was one great tower, red as the liquid fire of mountains. All three were joined by a massive fortress at its foundation. This was Gorthanion, as the Gorthans called it, but formally, it was called Korion, The Dark Tower. To this sight had Tereanor faltered, clutching on the nearest standing rock."
