i had monster hunter, monster hunter 2 and right now i have 284 hours in monster hunter 2 freedom i have killed pretty much 80 akantors xD and believe me its really easy with hammer and akantor armor against himself xDD if you check his moves carefully then youll be able to slaught him perfect xD and check my dark akantor cosplay (not finished yet) and tell me if you like it so far xD and die in the wait of mh3 for wii D

me and my mate Bill finally killed him today in 20 minutes of non-stop desperate fighting (after three attempts the previous week), but then again he has the smolder dragonsword he got from MH2 and I have the gigarex gunlance from tigrex+, the main problems I had was being speared and OHKO'd from the digging thing because I kept panicking and his issue was not being able to block and Akantor kept sitting in the middle 'island' which is the worst place we found it was to fight him. As a gunlancer I hit the side of his head from the left and Bill did his belly and we eventually got the tail off after a tail-swipe (after blocking it with sheer luck, one time I didn't see it coming) and we got 1 claw and 1 tusk off, we had to run as fast as frickin hell to avoid it's rage mode because Bill died twice and I almost died 5 times from getting cornered, we were so freaking relieved to get this over and done with and then the second time straight after to get my own rank up we struck back with avengence and won... now to grind it for it's armour, lmfao

lol fantastic we are actually doing the with one of my fellow hunters because he loves that armor. one thing i suggest since you are a fellow gunlance user *joy* is try turtling yourself and keep wailing on his junk, it's somthing that we figured out and has saved my ass so many times lol! but either way good luck and may your hunts devoid of all bullfango's lol

I tent to do a combination of turtling and also back-jumping (after a roar to get out of that deadly ring of fire-towers he brings up) which is useful, I just need to stop trying to turtle against a wall, lol.
And oh god... bullfango... luckily for us we've got a big shield, it's easy to kill Bulldrome with blocking and stabbing when it has it's back turned, but that doesn't stop them from being annoying, them and the dread vespoid (I once got paralyzed whilst in a fight with a black diablos and normal diablos in the same area, I don't know how I survived but I ran a mile round the side of the rocks to heal, DAMN VESPOIDS)

Wow that is great I wish I could fight with one as much as I want...My Psp is arse't Broke...So I only play every so often. Another thing I beat the crap out of the training school and then I get to fight a regular Fatalis and then I'm like "Whoa" I get to G-lvl 9 and I meet that Ukanlos guy and I'm like FUCK!!!

Hammer vs. Akantor = super ez.
I killed the thing in less than 20 mins with the tigrex hammer (I didn't have the Diablos Chaos Broker at the time)

I agree. Hammers just absolutely destroy him, by flinching him, stunning him, and breaking his first tusk in 1-2 minutes. Although you can't cut the tail. <

If you have friends to fight it it can be pretty easy XD. Just make sure everyone has flash bombs and keep the bastard stunned. XD Nice comment though.

have you been just farming the tails of the high level gravios and quiting that is how my friend was getting them when he made the armor that might make it easier on you

me and my friends are under the belief that the game knows when you need somthing real bad that it won't give you it right away. lol. when i was farming ruby's everyone was selling there excess ones for cash. had to chew on my thumb during loading screens lol.
