As I've said before, my personal Sci-fi universe shares a history with a heavily modified Stargate Alternate Universe. Unofficially, of course.

"Captain, we have an unusual energy signature off of our port quarter. It appears to be closing on us." A young officer at Constitution's Ops bridge post announced.

"Anything more specific Ops?" Inuqired Captain John Stanton from his position just aft of the helm.

"Not really sir. It's a signature we've never seen before."

Stanton smiled as he headed aft to the plot table. The tracking data and a display of the signature were already being projected in the air over the table. He looked up to his Exec, Commander Robert Blaise, who was standing at the plot table as well.

"She's early." Blaise smiled at his CO.

"That she is." Stanton checked his watch. "Works for me."

A moment later the signature on the display changed rapidly. Within moments the energy reading was gone and was replaced by the silhouette of a ship.

Odyssey and the other remaining BC-304 class cruisers had spent the bulk of the time from First Contact with the Shang Ta operating alongside Earth assets in the Pegasus Galaxy. From the Monian Incident in 2486 to the end of the war Odyssey would operate covertly alongside select units of the United Terran Alliance Navy. Her existence known only to officers briefed on the continuing Stargate project and its history. Her cloak, a gift from Dr. Daniel Jackson while he was a Prior for the Ori, is the only one of its kind on any long-range Earth affiliated ship. Making her a valuable recon, and covert operations tool. Odyssey, in concert with Terran Marine Special Forces and Stargate Command carried out the extraction of Shang Ta military families being held as bargaining chips to keep some of their highest ranking officers in line. The old ship continues to serve her homeworld with distinction.
