Any resemblance to persons living or dead is completely coincidental.Gavin goes to the land of the rising sun and is attacked by a bear. He fights back and kills it. Can you even eat bears? He'll certainly try.
I've had this samurai design for a while, finally got around to drawing it. It's been too long since I've done something like this. Cute drawings, begone! I've been getting too soft, it's time for my heart to go back to its normal below average size. Now that I'm decent at drawing people (meaning, having a 99% chance of being better than a random person off the street) I've decided to start drawing animals. Bears have been appearing at my college, so I guess they were on my mind or something. This is the first time I've tried to draw one, not bad.
I think I've been getting better. We've been focusing on hands in my figure class, do they look better here than usual?

Ooh, this is nice.. I think the blood on the blade should be a tad brighter at the start, as it looks like that the kill is recent. The background could have a bit more contrast, from darker to lighter so the whole painting doesn't seem "bland", so to speak. I really like these paintings, but there are just those little things to improve upon. Not that I'm an expert painter, but I see some things that may make these even better in my own opinion. You don't have to listen to them, but I just hope some of my words may help.

Thanks! Wow, now that you mention it, you're right! I never thought about the difference between blood shades like that, I'll definitely keep it in mind for my next one. And the contrast aspect is spot-on. I knew something was bothering me about my art, that's definitely what it was! Thanks a lot!

I hope it helps! Strong values actually give a lot to artworks, but when it becomes too much it is easy to notice!

Right? I kinda didn't want to draw a dead bear myself, I've really got nothing against them. I agree, knights are the best! I do have a soft spot for samurai though, so yeah. It's just a costume, he's still a knight on the inside. Lol.
I'm glad that the hands turned out well! Yeah, the right hand and leg are supposed to be closer to the viewer.

Yes, samurai are quite cool. There is just something artistic about sword fighting versus guns.

This is really painful to look at!! No I didn't mean that the art is bad. Actually, its really good, the realism is astounding, especially on that poor bear. I can feel his pain. Somehow this image seems to be attacking me. It is quite offensive, you know. Hurts my feelings. Maybe because I love bears so much! Hahaha!!
I do hope that scar on his handsome face gets infected, or give him tetanus or rabies. Hahaha! Just kidding!

Haha, thanks! Whaaaaaat, there's no way that this could be attacking you, mate! That bear just decided to make light of the templar cross, Gavin couldn't let that slide. Plus, he said that he looked like a horse. The horror! But really, Gavin's got nothing against bears. He was a little remorseful on this one.
I'm glad the realism is getting better! Old master paintings gang gang. I'm surprised at how much redrawing them has helped me. I'm actually surprised that the bear turned out so well since I've never drawn one (well, realistically.) Not bad!
Given the time period that he's in, that's not a far off possibility. I've actually read that if you undercook bear meat, then you get a parasite which eats your brain from the inside. Yeah, I think I'll pass on ever tasting any.
