Description
First we had Dark Alice, and now we have Priest Ethan. I drew one, so why not the other? I guess this would've happened if the Blackstone clan were a denomination instead. So instead of being banished from his magic clan, Ethan would've been banished from church... that's a funny thought. He definitely doesn't like the clothes, that's for sure.I like the way the background came out, but I feel like I'm drawing trees too much, especially without any leaves. I don't know, whenever I try to draw leaves it never comes out correctly. Guess I'll work on that. Interestingly enough, I actually based the background on the actual church I go to. That's probably why it ended up so detailed.
Why are his shoes off? Well, I drew the feet in the sketch and I liked how they looked. Simple enough. I really like drawing an arched foot, something about it looks really cool. They're easier to draw than hands too, so that's great.
Next up, I've got a commission I'm working on! So get ready for that I guess.

Looks like Ethanβs soul is already burning. Is the church too hot for you? Youβve taken your shoes off, now youβre fanning your stuff with your robe like thots do with their skirts on a hot day. Hahaha!
Anyway, this is a really nice painting! The emotions portray the mood of the subject really well. I love that nun at the background, she looks straight from a horror movie, also, she reminds me of Priscilla. Hehehe..

Thanks for the comment! I didn't even think about that when I drew this lol, it was just supposed to show that he didn't like what he was wearing. I feel like only you could come up with something like that xD
Hmm, now that you mention it, that nun does look mysterious. I guess it's because I'm lazy and didn't give her a face, ha.

Ahaha, thatβs what thots do when its too hot here, sometimes they pull their skirts up in front of an electric fan just to cool their baby machines down, ignoring the people behind them that suspires the putrescent winds. Β Ah, the highschool days. Haha!
That guy at the back looks interesting though! Nice hair dude!

Lol that's pretty funny. In my highschool everyone just wore pants, so no thots were visible at a glance. College though... college is a different story. xD
The guy in the back is Ethan's dad. In this version, he's the head of the church instead of the head of a clan of sorcerers. He somehow always manages to get his face out of the shot, so I guess he's a real humble guy. lol

great painting, shading is epic, brush strikes are all there, emotion on faces send a clear message, background, and background characters are very readable.
top notch.

The details of the two people in the background, including their outfits, is very good. The lack of leaves works because it could be winter. Krita has a leaf texture that I usually use to cheat and include leaves LOL. A strong feature is the Roman or Greek looking columns. The way he is posed speaks volumes about his resistance to the setting, as well as his shoes being off, which looks very natural in the way they have been kicked off. Good work on his outfit too, and of course facial expression is key here. As you implied, nice complementary piece to Dark Alice. Kudos

Thanks! I think the whole idea for the background characters came from this book I read recently about nuns. It was kinda interesting, so I decided to add one in. The great thing is that they're super easy to paint, since her entire lower body is just the same color lol. I never thought about using textures, I might look into it for my next drawing!Β
I feel like a have a lot more freedom when I'm drawing guys. They don't have to look particularly attractive, so I feel a lot less pressure when doing the face and stuff. So yeah, thanks for the awesome comment!

That sounds interesting. I agree their shape and outfit is quite user friendly to draw.Β
Yeah, there are a ton of free Krita brush packs, I downloaded a bunch and have not even used the bulk of them yet LOL. SeeΒ conceptartempire.com/free-kritβ¦Β for sme packs if interested

I actually like Ethan as a priest, it's like a contradiction that fits so we'll. Also I imagine him being someone who would just gamble, drink and curse in the church.
Also great drawing!

Thanks! Yeah, I actually think it fits him in a way. He does like to drink a lot, maybe that's why he would've gotten kicked out! lol.
