Description
Pencils and inks by Jeremy Tiongson - script, colouring and lettering by yours truly.Had this one on the back burner for some time. It was originally intended as part of a trilogy for Transformers Mosaic, but a series of real-life difficulties prevented that from happening.
Props to Mr. Tiongson, who was alright about the extended length of time it took for this to finally surface. There's a few other pieces from around the same era that are still waiting to be finished. Now that Multiverse is up and running, I hope to give them some time and get them up on the page in due course.
I provided Jeremy with a very basic 3D model showing my idea of how a movie-verse Scrounge might look in 'wheel' mode. The robot form is all his doing (and quite superb, in my opinion!)

Congrats, you just made the Movieverse more interesting than the past three movies. Seriously, I wanna see more of Scrounge and Crosshairs.

Ah, thanks!
Honestly, I think there's a lot of untapped potential in the movie continuity. It's a fertile ground for people to come in and tell their own little bits of backstory.
I think I said somewhere in the comments that there was originally a plan to expand on this strip, but that plan then evolved into a pitch idea. I've since chosen to repurpose ideas from it for something else again, so... this is probably as far as it'll go now.
But who knows? If it looks like enough people really want to see it, I might well revisit this little scenario.

Indeed. Though if I were to give a suggestion, ignore Earth. If we're following the movieverse's perspective of Earth, the Autobots and Decepticons would be having frat boy parties and speaking L33T.

Well, if it sets your mind at ease, I've never found Earth-bound stories terribly interesting. If there's no good reason for a story to be set there, then why tie it to that constraint? That's my personal view, anyhow.

Honestly, I'd like there to be another TF series where the 'bots and 'cons travel through space and visit different planets. Like Victory, Beast Wars Neo or the second and third seasons of G1 [and no, the Unicron trilogy doesn't count]. In my opinion, it takes a lot more imagination to set a story in space than it does whilst setting it on Earth.

That approach certainly widens the focus.
I prefer to see that sort of thing just because I'm a bigger fan of the 'cosmic' vein of storytelling than I am of seeing fantastical characters liek that placed into situational set-ups. When I see that, I always feel like there's a limit to where things can go, and that makes it that bit harder for me to get excited about it.

Although now that I think about it, a Star Trek-esque Transformers series could be something we need. Imagine if one episode, the Maximals fight it out with the Preds on a Gas Giant, but in the next, they're fighting an aerial battle on a planet with no solid matter.

I think the MTMTE ongoing is filling that need pretty comfortably - I love seeing the situations the characters end up in, and there are so many cool little quirks and ideas in there.
Hah! I guess I wish I could write something like that!

Indeed you could. Oh, and hands up if James Roberts should adapt MTMTE into a new animated series, but free from copious amounts of superfluous continuity. I'd watch that.

You flatter me, sir!
And hell yes - I could go for animated MTMTE as well!

Indeed, good sir. No All Hail Megatron, no Chaos Theory, no Infiltration, Annihalation, etc; just in it's own continuity.

D'oh! I managed to miss this post.
I've had to quickly re-read the thread to make sure I'm on track - but I see your point.
Personally, I really enjoy the aspect of the book where it references and respects everythign that came before. But I also think it stands up very well as its own entity.
There have been points in what I've read so far where the book has reminded me of the very best of the comics I used to read as a kid. There's a really expansive feel to the setting, great characters and genuinely fun developments as the story progresses. I think that would transition to TV very well.
(Sorry to have left you hanging!)

Heck, have James Roberts write the series. That would sell like hotcakes.

Hey, we had to put up with 5 years of amateur comics from Shane McCarthy [the worst thing to come out of Australia, saying that as an Australian myself] and Mike Costa [who's like the JJ Abrams of Transformers; all style, no substance]. It's about time someone like J.R [James Roberts] took over this mess. I mean-hell-the IDW Continuity is so murky that I can't tell where the Golden Age of Cybertron ends and Beast Wars begins.
