Biography
Speed Demon is a founding member of the Squadron Supreme, a group of alien superheroes from a distant world similar to the Avengers. They chose to solve their planet's problems by taking control of the planet, because they felt partially responsible for the chaos ravaging their planet. As the new authority they took on more than just crime fighting and super-villains, they tackled poverty, hunger, the environment, and public health. The people of their world feared their power and turned against them. As a final solution, The Squadron Supreme destroy their home planet, escaping into space in their Citadel. James Sanders was a disgruntled chemist tired of his job with a pharmaceutical company of his planet. Late one night, he snuck in an experimental potion as he just finished his late night shift. After completely consuming this elixir, he gained the ability to run at superhuman speed. Hungering for fame and excitement, he sought after criminals that prowl in the night. After pulling off a few daring rescues and taking down thugs and thieves, he eventually earned a name for himself to the public eye as Speed Demon. Not long after, he was contacted by Hyperion, Nighthawk, and Power Princess who offered him a chance at more excitement and something to further expand his speed abilities in exchange for him joining their team; the Squadron Supreme.
