Description
Hmmm... I've had this unfinished for such a long time on my harddisk now. So I just completed it as a warm up today (not as "finished" as I originally intended but I have other things to finish too). It's a study of the Sibyl of Delphi from Michelangelo [link] [link] . I have a book with his art and I drew it from that reference with a few changes (especially background).
Michelangelo was a big influence on me to draw and paint when I was a kid (if fact I was such a big fan I read everything about him including poems he wrote). I painted an oil color version of her when I was fifteen but I don't know anymore where it is.
Done in MyPaint and Photoshop CS4.

Thank you so much!
Still, I believe nothing can reach the original, because it included painting the whole Sistine Chapel with huge artworks that each had to be done really fast before the plaster dried and during this the artist had to sit or lie down on wooden constructions, which also ruined his health. I really hope to see the Sistine Chapel one day.

Haha, well, maybe the difficulty isn't as hard, but I think the quality of the work is just as wonderful!

Beautiful, it really pops out. Almost literally.
You make it look so much like an oil painting, it's fascinating :0

Thank you! It's a lot easier to copy though than coming up with the idea myself But it's a nice way to learn.
