Description
I've noticed the image does not translate well onto the computer because of its scale. It's really disheartening that I am unable to share the piece how it should be viewed. To see it in the context of the gallery, click here: [link]Oil on Canvas
The size is 5 x 6 feet.
Full View is a must!
Winner of the Winnifred Cutler Purchase Prize Award, Cash Award for Painting, and Circle Graphic Award.

Oh, this is really nice! The blue of the eyes of the man in front is very striking and I really love his hands.
The warm colours are very inviting and the image has a very nice depth to it.
Very nice piece of work
I want to experiment more with oils myself

This is one of the most interesting and original paintings i've seen on da in quite some time. The colour scheme is fantastic and sombre, the concept is great, the figures are very well captured and the observation is superb. The folds of the suit and the detail of the machinery are very good aswell. I have no criticisms whatsoever

Wow, this is a brilliant piece of work and at first thought it was a photo. I love the grey yellows, that give out the science lab effect without using the usual neon green. I love that it's like a home made lab and it makes it more eerie, the lighting and the colours also seem like you've been interrogated. They are testing on you. I love the perspective and the compostion making the audience a part of the painting. Also the details of the machine and the shading is amazing. Im still trying out oils. Well done and Congratulations on it winnning the award. you deserve it. Out of interest, how did you enter in the contest?

Thank you very much
My work was part of an annual student exhibition at my college and all of the work gets judged for prizes. The committee was very kind to me this year, as I was awarded 4 cash prizes...three of which were for this painting

Oddly it reminds me of the office at work, what can I say, this is one really fine piece, totally stunning, hmm would it look better with slightly more contrast.

Amazing work! The look in the Professors eyes (I'm calling him the professor cause that what he reminds me of) makes me think he has something up his sleave. You did an exceptional job with the texturing and depth which a lot of people miss.

Wow, an intriguing and complex piece. I like the colour scheme ^^ works well. The poses give it an almost surreal feeling to it. It's probably just a scan/photo problem, but maybe some darker shadows. If that's redundant for the original just ignore it. However, the shelf on the uper left does seem a bit flat

Thanks.
The "shelf" isn't really a shelf...it's more of a thin ledge that electrodes hang from so they don't get tangled.

Fantastic, good to see such a mastery of oil. Incredibly realistic, and with so much charm.
Takes me back to the 50s somehow.
as I am sure others have commented, a better photo would make this a DD pretty quickly.

So much detail here The colours are very warm and the perspectives are perfect. I'd ove to see the better picture, I think your flash and the leaning angle have robbed this of it's just presentation

Great skill as usual!
Reminds me of an Edgar Allan Poe story, "The System of Dr. Tarr and Prof. Fether" hehe but I'm on a Poe binge though so it's probably just me.

I'll have to check out that story...I've been on a "Dr. Crane/ Scarecrow" kick for a few months now and I have a "Gross Clinic" obsession, and I think those things really pushed me to go into neuro lab and make a creepy painting.

Wow, man! These days it's rare to see oil paintings.
Very interesting concept, I think they work too hard heh, besides great decals and lighting you show extremely good face expression!
I'm impressed!
