Description
Prompt, May 17th:Super Team: Draw up your idea of the perfect super (or villain) team! The number of members in said team is completely up to you. Maybe he/she is an army of one? Don't forget some of the classic team stereotypes: The Vixen, The 'Big Guy', The Rebel, The Braniac, The Robot, etc. Or maybe your team is set in a different time period? (Super-awesome-knight-armored-team-of-awesomeness! Mega-hyper-mech-team-extravaganza!)
Got your team all drawn up and still need to draw some more? Draw their arch-enemy!
Bonus points for teaming up with other SkD-ers to form even more incredible teams of face-punching and general bad-assery.
One of my all-time favorite Five-Man Bands . Left-to-right:
• The Lancer: Midas Betancore
• The Chick: Alizabeth Bequin
• The Leader: Gregor Eisenhorn
• The Big Guy: Godwyn Fischig
• The Smart Guy: Gideon Ravenor
This must be in Ravenor's early days as Eisenhorn's Interrogator, before the Atrocity and Midas' death, before the bad old days of Malleus. Dammit, let me have this bright moment in the grim darkness of the far future.

I tend to cheat a lot. Some stuff I develop from costume reference (a professor mentioned the Osprey Men-At-Arms series once, so that night I torrented all two hundred books … they've proven invaluable). In this case, a lot of the established characters had costuming from canon. Going left-to-right, allow me to disabuse you of my genius:
Midas — No canon images of him, but we do get a small inset of his daughter, Medea, in a background chapbook, and we know the jacket's really his. That was easy.
Lizzie — I was really surprised that same book didn't have any pictures of her at all. I based her breastplate/gorget/spaulders combo on a piece by — I ape him a lot when I'm not sure what to do with 40K costuming. This is the piece in question (and when I saw it, I said "i need to commission this guy." I did, eventually … but for my boyfriend and not me. It's still on the list. )
Eisenhorn — Dude's on the cover of the book. Not much to be done there.
Fischig — Fischig is the best. His garb here is a cross between what the official art has him wearing and more Dubustuff, which I also drew on for Chastener Urbanias. (They're from the same order, so.)
Ravenor — Apparently, my mental picture of Ravenor is Asian. Whether that's strictly in keeping with canon is debatable … but I may or may not have based a bit of his armor on the designs from, uh, Mulan. i did it and i am not sorry.
I feel a bit lame giving away my secrets like that, but (a) I really feel like I've gotta give Dubu credit where it's due, and (b) it's really just a matter of finding cool stuff to look at and steal details from for me.
