In 1992 a really nice guy called Till Krausse from Hamburg turned up at Mam and Dad's house. He was in Shetland on holiday, and was interested in art. Someone had told him, that Dad painted pictures (which he does) so he came to ask if it was possible to see some of Dad's work. To cut a long story short, we cleared out an old caravan that wasn't being used, and Till spent the whole summer living here. He was very impressed with Mam's garden and sent her a beautiful blue glass globe for her garden. She was so scared they got broken, she never dared put them outside. I had forgotten about them, until you mentioned yours

This is an original old glass fishing float. Not many of them left nowadays as you can imagine, because as they are made of glass, most of them have been broken over the years.

Yeah, kinda thought that was what it was. Is it yours? I bet they looked pretty floating on the water. Were they made in many colors?
Now to decide if it should be filed in the bridges/ships/etc folder or the historical one? Which do you suggest?

I would go for the ship folder 
I think they were made from clear, green and blue glass.
