These sea-lions are totally relaxed catching some sun on one of the beaches on the Galapagos Islands. They do not bother my presence at all and as the matter of fact I was told not to get to close but nobody told the sea-lions that rule!Related content

I saw a GlobeTreker recently on the islands and I was hooked . . . excluding the flight, how much would you anticipate a 2 week trip costing? How long did you go for? Stay in mainland Ecuador at all?

I stayed 3 weeks on the mainland in Equador. A one week trip (as I did) in addition will cost about 1500 US or 1000 Euro (includes the flight from Guayacil to the Islands). The entry fee for the National Park (all islands) was in 2002 100 US. The only extra's are the drinks on the boat after the trips ashore (lots of salsa dancing on the deck with very good coctails). I can only recommend it as a great experience. I know you can travel straight from the US towards Quito or Guayacil.
