Description Takeo: So...I've finally gotten around to finalizing that basic guide and refresher course for Blading Academy students, especially those taking courses that focus on Beyblade design in some way. I know the new series of Beyblades focuses more on the metal aspect, so the weight disks - metal wheels - are somewhat bigger, but the same principles apply. They're quite similar to the blades in the heavy metal series, actually.

The drawings are meant only to serve as examples, since no two parts look exactly alike. The next part will hopefully cover the subtypes in more detail, as well as the basics on designing a balance-type bey.

OOC: I don't consider myself an expert of course, but I know that some people in the BB fandom still have difficulty effectively designing Beyblades. I'm just jotting down what I've learned so far from tinkering with both the original series beys and the ones from Metal Fight, trying to help people take that next step from just editing the colors of existing Beyblades and putting together their own, somehow. Drawing Beyblades, though, is an entirely separate thing

Hmm..... Well my fan made Beyblade, Dovahkiin (Beyblade and Skyrim crossover) is a balance, meaning that he's vampire, werewolf, wizard, warrior, etc. It's Skyrim okay?! Ok... Alduin, that secondary Beyblade(again, Beyblade and Skyrim crossover) is an attack type. That'll be easy for him. Dovahkiin though.... Hard....Β

OOC: Ahaha, well, 'vampire' is another term for a Bey that tends to steal spin power from the opponent, rather than the Bey being an actual mythical creature. If your crossover Bey is a balance type... from your description I'm guessing it's a stamina-attack type?

Yes. Yes it is.

Oohh, this is really good! This definitely gives a better look at how some of those all fit together 8D

Takeo shown is a really nice touch to it, and the chibies are so cute

OOC: Trust me, this thing underwent SO many changes, and had so many versions (including one that had a list of all the iconic beys for each type OTL ), until I finally went with this one. I obviously had too much time on my hands at some point in college, to have picked this up XD;

I had fun drawing chibi Takeos since he's the professor for the subject and all, I thought it'd be a good idea to have him 'guiding' the tutorial lolz

Takeo: No problem - it's something I'd said I would do, but I couldn't complete it for a long time

OOC: Ooh, this looks handy! It sure makes a bit more sense now... Thanks for doing this! (As a side note, that chibi Takeo head is pretty cute!)

OOC: I had fun doing it haha! The problem was making sure I didn't get too wordy Β  and then there's drawing the examples; even if I have a lot of real-life reference (the chibi Takeo head was especially fun to draw XD; )

OOC: Makes sense. I can get a little wordy... (Hee hee--and do I see Gogyou (?) and Hyoumu at the top?)

OOC: Yep, those're the twins' beys; the other beys I attempted to design way back when are lost somewhere in my external drives (I have 3 of them lil black boxes lol)Β

OOC: Awesome! I like the names for the stamina subtypes, zombie and vampire. Makes sense, I guess!

OOC: Those are actual names for them XD; Β however, I had to make up the ones for the attack and defense subtypes, based on what I'd seen in real-life battles Β the next part's gonna be a doozy - I'm not even sure how to start! OTLΒ

OOC: Seriously? I thought it would have been the other way around... Either way, it works! And oh dear... Good luck!

HiEn-no-Futago In reply to Nao-Matsuki [2015-07-27 01:34:25 +0000 UTC]

OOC: Yep - they beys in the show don't always follow real-world physics (duh), and from what I saw in forums, only the endurance types had them subtypes. So I had to observe some of my attack and defense set-ups. Currently working on the second part - I finally figured where to start, and how the flow would go Β  And thanks, I'm gonna need it (comparing and contrasting existing beys, oh dear gods.)

OOC: That's very true. I've got a few beys at home, and just comparing the different tips and how they move in the stadium showed differences--an XF (Extreme Flat) moves differently to a WD (Wide Defence). So it's interesting...

And oh dear...

HiEn-no-Futago In reply to Nao-Matsuki [2015-07-28 02:32:28 +0000 UTC]

OOC: The last time I actually counted how many beys I have, it was after that trip to Hong Kong a few years back - I had 18. One tip: do NOT use XF with a low track like 90 or 105, unless you're going for an attack set-up. That thing will floorscrape so bad you might KO yourself.

Not sure how many I have at the moment Β  but yes they do move differently! Throwing an opposing bey into the stadium would also affect their movements. Even how you launch them affects the movement patterns @_@ Β

OOC: Ah. I have... 5? beys and not much variety in tips and spintracks. (Nice tip! Iβ€˜ll bear that in mind when I customise...))

Yeah, I've noticed that. My launches vary a lot, so that may impact it. It's interesting to watch!

OOC: Current fave customizations include Earth Eagle GB145MB, Hell Wolf BD145CS (lol Atsuki's blade)...oh snap, forgot the third one, but I have it in my battle box-thing, compared to other parts or customizations that are in my bey toolbox Β  I had WAY too much time on my hands in my last semester of college, let me tell ya Β

OOC: I've covered main types and sub-types - now on to balance-type blades @_@Β  the problem is, that topic's broader than the first two. SO I'm just curious - anything in particular you'd like to see covered in the tutorial on balance types? It would help narrow things down somehow Β  (not to mention I've resorted to using the twins' beys as examples to illustrate how different set-ups can be used for the same combination of types XD; )
