but look this little beauty i've just found and bought
Β Court sword from the XVIIITh century, with silver guard, pommel and handle. The handle is hollow. She is the first piece a costum project I'm starting to work on.

Here's an idea. Remove the handle, bring it up about five or so inches and make it one solid piece.

By making the handle and blade one solid piece the blade will never break. At least nowhere near the hilt.
