Not really. Most live-action movies based on cartoons tend to stink. The only ones I could think of that were received well by nearly everyone was the first two "Addams Family" films.

The Addams Family wasn't based on cartoons though....
There WERE cartoon versions of the show, but those came later.
The original Addams Family was an old black and white show in the 50's or 60's, can't remember which.

Actually, the Addams' started out as a comic book. Then, in the 1960's, there was the hit TV sitcom. Then, there was the 70's cartoon (proof of this comes in an episode of "Scooby Doo: Movies" where the Mystery Inc. gang meets the Addams' to help solve Wednesday's disappearance). So yes, there were toons and comics BEFORE the 1992 & 1993 films.

There was also a cartoon show in the 90's of the Addams family.
That was the only one I knew about.
