That's a really interesting look for Leatherhead, playing up the human side but with a decidedly reptile appearance.
I was thinking April would have been the cat lady, considering the old episode of the Fred Wolf cartoon and that Mutatin' action figure from 1993.

The reason for LH appearence its on his bio. The mutagen that he got contacted with was still a prototype stage, ending in him looking like that.
About April, I like that version of her but for their mutant counterparts, I chose animals that could go with their personalities. April can be cunning and sassy, ready to get her friends/herself out of danger just by thinking in a smart solution without fighting, so I though giving a fox appearence to her(this april is a mix of the 2003 series, 2012 series and the comics, so yeah) was the best idea, like making Karai a tiger and Casey a wolf.
