I have to poke some fun at this. Yes, it is infuriating that your favourite character of the entire series isn't present for an event that would call for her presence (Again. Why Hello Gala!). But at the same time it can be seen as funny. But seriously writers and Hasbro. PLEASE stop acting like Luna doesn't exist. She's actually a pretty damn popular character and one with tons of potential. =/
Still. Not a reason to not be excited for the episodes. I know they'll be enjoyable regardless.
Also..I keep noticing most artists color her with the colors of the "Luna Eclipsed" episode. Um..that episode took place at nightime..everyone's colors where darker..

I find it very weird how they make Celestia in the show, the whole ideas of putting Cadence and Blueblood as Celestia niece and nephew, it just put up alot of confusion, not to mention that Blueblood turn out to be realy bad character, when Luna/NMM was character they started and gave up far too fast.
In my personal opinion, even if MLP episodes are very very funny and supricing, they totaly screw up Celestia/Luna and characters who are related to tham.
In fanfictions Celestia and Luna play very importand role and they characters are far far better developed, showing up that they play importand role and making plot with Luna imprisoment far more importand and related to the story.
I think MLP show bgest mistake was focusing too much on mane 6 and making importand events with Celestia and Luna as just background events.

I found it weird at first, but then I started to give it thought, and as I mentioned it can be explained. But again, Cadence, until we learn more of her, can be explain like Blueblood's been explained.
That is because fanfictions tend to be more mature. As I said, if the backstories of Celestia and Luna are to be touched upon, there's some moral topics to involve, I don't know if the writers want to work with that. >.<
But either way, they can work with Celestia and Luna without touching the moral filled backstories. Again, "Luna Eclipsed" is an example of that.

Well, even if it is a cartoon what orginaly was ment to be for litle girls, it turn out to be accepted by boys, teens and adults.
The fun part with alot of jokes in this show is great, however there should be no problem with putting more mature and serious aspects to the show.

This incarnation of My Little Pony was never meant to be only for little girls. But for all ages. That was the intent. And they did well. But I did say all ages. There are reasons somethings are for mostly older people and some for mostly younger people. Since it's such a general audience show, putting in something that may come of as to mature may not be a good move. But hey, who 'am I to judge? I just don't want to see the writers do something they don't feel okay with.

According to Faust, Blueblood is a fifty-something-great-nephew many times removed on Celestia's and Luna's mother's side... which could mean that your theory that Blueblood is a descendant of Princess/Queen Platinum (as Platinum's father, the "Unicorn-King", was mentioned, I think Platinum eventually became a Queen or something); I also think it's quite possible.
As for Cadence... perhaps Celestia's and Luna's mother had a son, who is Cadence's father? Closest guess I've got.

Lol. That I did not know. People should document such comments into the wiki's and link source them. I guess my theory (or something similar to it) on Blueblood could also apply for Cadence I guess. XD Long distant relative who came out an Alicorn, but is most likely not as powerful as the sisters.

Perhaps Alicornhood is an extremely rare trait that only occurs in one out of a million unicorns, and even then only in ones descended from the Unicorn Kings of old?
That could be a possible explanation for why only three or four Alicorns have appeared so far (Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Cadence, and the unnamed Alicorn Princess who appears in the ancient book from Hearts and Hooves Day - it's possible that that's one of the previous named Princesses though, despite the fact that the mane does not match either Celestia, Luna, or Cadence).

Yeah, that's one thing I'm thinking as a possbility. Cadence being just a rare genetic result. XD
I think in part, I personally like to think Cadence is not an alicorn in the same way the sisters are. But either way, it's a valid explanation IMO.
About the Heart and Hooves story. I thought she was portrayed as a unicorn in one screencapture and an alicorn in another, resulting in an animation mistake. xD Still, it was a nice little shout out to the finale. xD

I wouldn't mind seeing Luna at the wedding, though I do have a somewhat plausible for her to be attending:
She's the Princess of the Night, and so is usually awake only at night; while Celestia is the Princess of the Day, and so is seen during the daytime.

Me neither, but it is possible, as I don't think it's an easy feat to raise and lower the Moon even for an Alicorn - this could be part of the cause for Luna getting all upset over no one admiring her night, since she went through all that hard work of preparing it each evening... for nothing.)

She would not go emo after her episode where Twilight did her best to help her and make her more social, after this episode Luna should probably try to be friend with Twilight and learn more about her since she was only ponny who did not fear her.
Somethink or Celestia must stoping her from showing up, or she may be turning into Nightmare Moon again to come back with Discord in season 3.
Or just writers in advance decided to ignore Luna as character and now when she became popular, they found it hard or not care to use her in the show, hope it will change in season 3.
