Description
My entry for [link]This is the first and most important principle of the classic animation. All 12 principles were invented by the leading Disney animators from the 1930s in their efforts to produce more realistic movements.
The purpose of "squash and stretch" is to convey a sense of weight and flexibility. It can be applied to simple objects, like a bouncing ball, or more complex constructions, like the musculature of a human face. In realistic animation, however, the most important aspect of this principle is the fact that an object's volume does not change when squashed or stretched.

Thank you! I guess it's not a real 2D if it doesn't squash & stretch...

honestly, it's good, but imo not good enough to be a dd. there should be some bounce-up effect after the last bounce, due to the sense of elasticity and flexibility you get from watching it.

I guess you're right about the bounce-up effect. I was actually willing to revision it later on but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to alter my entry, once it was submitted to the contest...

Well, a couple of years ago almost everybody was convinced that the 2d-animation was over, so no wonder that most people don't use it anymore...

eh they better bring it back. 2d is so much rewarding since it's much harder to do.

Cute and funny... but it's the little things, like straightening the Mickey Mouse hat at the end, that set it apart. Well done!

It's very cute! But is it supposed to stretch on the way down? I thought most of the stretching occurred after it'd squashed and then was coming back up.
Then again, I've never animated anything in my life so... I should probably shut up now!
Congratulations on the DD!

No, it's OK. Actually, you're right to a certain extent - if one pursues more natural movement, the second stretch, right before the contact with the ground, could be ignored. Adding it though, makes the bounce more exaggerated and more cartoonier. It all depends on what type of animation you're leaning to.

A program. I think it comes along with Photoshop but I'm not entirely sure.
