Description
My entry for [link]This is the first and most important principle of the classic animation. All 12 principles were invented by the leading Disney animators from the 1930s in their efforts to produce more realistic movements.
The purpose of "squash and stretch" is to convey a sense of weight and flexibility. It can be applied to simple objects, like a bouncing ball, or more complex constructions, like the musculature of a human face. In realistic animation, however, the most important aspect of this principle is the fact that an object's volume does not change when squashed or stretched.

Wow, this is pretty dang awesome. I'm usually not a fan of emoticon animations, but this is great! I have a few old Disney animation books, and really respect the theories they developed, and as the DD says - this is a flawless example of one of them. I'm also quite taken by the concise yet informative spiel you put in your description about the theory itself. Great job, and I think you've inspired me to break out my old animation books again!
