Description European Kingfisher at Mártély, backwater of Tisza River, Hungary, Europe.

Unfortunately it is not as good as your shots, but I am very proud of it, as this was my very first time to stalk a Kingfisher, and also my first time to shoot from ladik, a small boat typical to that area.

Reminds me of the "docks" as we referred to the swampy area of the trailer park we camped in as kids. Used to catch turtles and frogs there a lot. This is a striking image, with great use of dof. That blue! It's like the little bugger knew, and posed, heh.

Thank you! Actually it is a backwater and a national heritage reserve area. It has some swampy parts indeed I don't know about turtles, they are rare here but its flora and fauna are really rich and interesting.

Ha egyszer lesz egy szabad, fotózásra felhasználható hónapom, lehet, hogy elmegyek jégmadarászni. Egy-két ismerős kiépített egy komoly leshelyet, odaszoktattak madarakat, csak hát még ezen felül is sok minden kell hozzájuk, nem utolsó sorban idő. Az meg hírhedt a mennyiségéről

(Ja, és psszt! Nehogy elijeszd! Szegény Linnéa itt maradna egy madár nélküli üres nádassal-susnyással... BTW láttad a képeit? Csodaszép dolgokat tud!)

Bizisten beszerzek hirtelen egy jégmadarat, hátha akkor végre látlak egy kicsit...

Aw this is such a sweet deviation and really cheered me up Such a lovely photo too, much better than any photos I've got of kingfishers! Lovely birds, one of my favourites
