"If you don't stop squirming,"he murmured in her ear, you'll find something other than my horse to ride in a minute!" He tightened his fists on the reins as she leaned into him a little further, eyes closed in bliss.

Suddenly he yanked the reins back hard, making the horse stop dead in its tracks, almost teetering. Frollo's long leg shot forward and outward for balance, his chaperon slightly tolling on his head with the sudden motion. Frollo leaned back a little and pinched Esmeralda's arm, in a bid to gain her attention. She cracked one eye open lazily, still halfway lost in pleasant sensations. What had caught her husband's attention?

Standing before them, a dual vision in blond. Two people so alike, she almost mistook them for siblings. Only when Frollo spoke did she realize who the two people gaping at her were.

"Ah, captain Phoebus!" Frollo drawled."And your lovely wife, I presume?"

Fleur-de-Lys chose to regain her tongue at that moment and dropped into a little sarcastic curtsy, unwittingly drawing her husband's arm down with her. "Minister and Madame Frollo. Well met on this lovely day." She replied evenly. Phoebus just grunted and inclined his head, squinting at the two people seated above them.

Fleur- de- Lys saw Esmeralda for the first time and realized immediately that that girl was her polar opposite in every way. Dark to her pale skin, rounded curves to her slim ones, black hair to her almost white. Yet Fleur-de-Lys was aware of her own beauty and had wielded it as a weapon as soon as she was able to walk and talk.

She also saw how well matched the Minister and his wife really were. Looking at Claude Frollo, who was giving her the same appraising look in return, she saw a man who would stop at nothing to gain what he wanted.
Fleur-de- Lys could not have asked for a better partner in crime back then.

Claude Frollo bared his teeth at the pale beauty in a facsimile of a smile, recognizing her too for the predator she was. Dipping his head once more at her, he drove his heels into the horse, and the horse jettisoned forward again, eager to be on the move again.

Just before the other couple turned the corner, Fleur-de-Lys swore she could hear him continue to his wife:"Now, about that other ride..."

Madam De Chateaupers tightened her grip on her husband's bicep and they set off in the other direction.
