I think you captured wrong the idea...
Everyone have a little notion of cooking, but remember, they are watching and admiring how the master chef is cooking. Chef means "leader" of the kitchen, a frycooker can be a chef too, or you need to cook only some kind of food to be one? (i mean, Sponge Bob can make a krusty burger better than the Neptune god itself).
Chef for some reason is called "Chef" (that's the joke) Chowder is only watching (look it up, how he seems amazed) and if we are going to that case, the Danette Chef isn't a chef because he's only an actor, and of course Master Chief is from Halo and he isn't a chef (but again... that's the joke of the mispelling).
So try to look it again to understand it before to argue.
