Surprise birthday commission for - Toothless holding a pencil and getting ready to draw something. Based on this scene in How to Train Your Dragon, where Toothless shows off his lifelong calling as an artist, but with a pencil substituted for the branch. I would have liked to make the pencil bigger so that it would reach the ground, but then it wouldn't have fit in his mouth.

Crafted from colored polymer clay and hand-painted glass eyes.

BTW, if you're into concept art, I recommend checking out The Art of How to Train Your Dragon . All sorts of fantastic work in it (I especially loved the early concepts of Astrid and wish she'd retained more of the viking look), and there is a fantastic little storyboard of the Toothless drawing scene in it as well that I found even more inspiring than the final animated piece. Something about sketches are so appealing to me - they're so full of life.
