For the 2019 @Composition-Challenge
For the 7th prompt, study, I chose a nearly finished sketch by Gustave Moreau, a french artist from the 19th century. I like his art very much, studying art history I wrote about one of his finished works, Jupiter and Semele.
I changed a few things in the color palette and also the flowers around him, thus mainly because they were a lot sketchy, so I chose the quickest solution.
Also, I want to recommend to you, if you have the chance to visit Paris, and you have 2-3 free hrs. , visit the museé gustave moreau. It is a sympathetic small museum settled in his old house. I visited it myself and must say it’s my favorite museum (and I‘m an art historian, I basically visit museums all day).
