So how do i put links on the animated icons? For example i want to open the "My Documents"folder by clicking the icon. How do i make it open the "My Documents" folder or other applications such as Firefox and other apps? It's my first time doing this and im pretty much dont understand how do it.

Edit the icon in text editor.

Change variable to what you want like this which opens "My Documents" folder.

[Variables]
Shortcut="C:\Users\USER_NAME_HERE\Documents"

BTW, is there any way to put names when the cursor is close by to the icons? to confuse which shortcut it is for?

MouseOverAction=!Execute [!RainmeterRedraw]
MouseLeaveAction=!Execute [!RainmeterRedraw]

Those lines need to be edited. Haven't work on rainmeter in a long time. Check the manual but here is what I think.

[IMAGE]
Meter=IMAGE
ImageName=IMAGENAME.png
X=?
Y=?
H=?
W=?
AntiAlias=1
Hidden=0

Is the image in the middle.

Then these will toggle that image.

MouseOverAction=!Execute [!RainmeterRedraw][!RainmeterShowMeter IMAGE]

MouseLeaveAction=!Execute [!RainmeterRedraw][!RainmeterHideMeter IMAGE]

or for text

[Text]
Meter=STRING
Prefix="TEXT HERE"
X=?
Y=?
H=?
W=?
StringStyle=BOLD
StringAlign=CENTER
FontColor=0,0,0,255
FontSize=11
AntiAlias=1
Hidden=0

MouseOverAction=!Execute [!RainmeterRedraw][!RainmeterShowMeter TEXT]

MouseLeaveAction=!Execute [!RainmeterRedraw][!RainmeterHideMeter TEXT]

What file are you editing?

[Variables]
Shortcut="C:\Users\User_Name_Here\Downloads"

That works for me. Make sure you save the correct file and restart or refresh Rainmeter.

Now im using your rainmeter now. but is there a way to do the same with your rainmeter? like the images? i already got the sound working on your rainmeter. What resolution and screen size is your Netbook? Ex. 1280 x 800 14inch. I will probably make a smaller version as I brought my laptop to school and the icons are too big for it also.

well its a 8.5 inch note book. so max it goes up to 1024x768. but right now im using my HD TV thats 19 inches which is at 1440x900. if you can make smaller icons that would be great. i cold always mess around with it, but just keep me updated, thanks so much

If you right click the icon and go to Skin Menu then Edit Skin. Change the Solid Color to 200,0,0,200 then save. (The default Solid Color is 0,0,0,1 to change back later). Now if you refresh Rainmeter a red box appears around the icon. If you hold the left click mouse button near the edges but still on the red it should move around. If not then check the settings by right click the icon and go to Skin Menu then make sure Draggable, Save Position, Snap to Edges and Keep on Screen are checked. Hope that helps, if not reply back.

Hmmm quick fix. Right click the icon and go to Skin Menu then Edit Skin. Add this to the bottom of text and save. Refresh Rainmeter after.

[Text]
Meter=STRING
Prefix="TEXT HERE"
X=63
Y=104
H=11
W=125
StringStyle=BOLD
StringAlign=CENTER
FontColor=0,0,0,255
FontSize=11
AntiAlias=1
Hidden=0

Change TEXT HERE to what you want displayed.
For White text change FontColor to 255,255,255,255. Also to move text up and down change Y.
