yes, I represent Treasure and you are being sued for -1,000,000$!
Seriously though, Thats awesome, Treasure is a great company, and this character looks cool too. The whip attacks remind me of Nightmare before Christmas: Oogie's revenge (although that isnt a Treasure game).

phew...
I thought it looked futuristic enough to look like a generic design, but also some people might notice it's similar to something else. The game's more inspired by Nintendo and capcom games, but who cares!

It is a cool design for being so simple. Doesn't hurt to throw in some fun little things like that every short while. Sillohuette Mirage and Mischief Makers were both fun games ^_^
Also, Oogie's Revenge is a capcom game. Sorry if I made it sound like a treasure one

I think it's the way that you can just bully enemies in treasure games that inspire me the most. Astro Boy especially has you knocking guys all over the place. Though I think their shmups are probably my favorite.

True enough. I liked how in Mischief makers, you're only means of hurting enemies was just to grab them and beat them against the ground or their teammates (especically the final boss). Doesn't help that you can also just steal their gems but shaking them. Sillohuette Mirage was worse where not only is the most effective way to get money is to grab the enemy and beat the crap out of them, but you get 99% of your money this way and without doing that, you'll have no way of buying most of the stuff in the shop.
Ikaruga was certainly cool, and a Japan exclusive Bleach Fighting game which looks really cool. Whether you like Bleach or not, Anime fighters tend to look and play really well.
I haven't played alot of their Shmups though actually. I'm surprised to find they apparently made Dynamite Headdy and Wario World.

I've actually never played Mischief Makers, but I've seen some speedruns that look pretty cool. I have SM on psx and I honestly don't remember too much about it. Maybe it wasn't great? Maybe I should go back and play it some time.
I imported both Bleach fighting games. Aizen was broken with his fireball jab but overall the game was fun for a while. I actually used to love Bleach.
Their shmups are their best work. I'd recommend it if you like those games at all. They've done a bunch of games that they aren't credited for too, most notably Gradius V. The shmup community knows what's up, but they aren't mentioned anywhere in the game or manual. It's probably my favorite of all their games but Sin and Punishment 2 is probably the "best" overall.

Sillohuete Mirage was really difficult actually. It had a cool mechanic where you'd fire different elements of bullets depending on if you were facing left or right, but alot of the boss fights and levels got really difficult. Just remember to punch everyone in the face till you have all their money and you'll have a fighting chance. Mischief makers wasn't nearly as hard from what I remember but trying to find all the gold gems (hidden collectable for the true ending) without a walkthrough is close to impossible. For example, theres a cutscene after the final boss which gets longer the more gold gems you have, but theres one point where you're just supposed to know to press the B button to grab someone and shake them with absolutely no way of knowing to do that, in a cutscene where otherwise, you have no control of the characters. There's also one guy in an early level with the gold gem that just dies immediately if you dont know to go straight to the left of where you spawn the second you begin the level
Doesnt the Wii and DS have region coding? I won't be able to get them without somehow modifying my wii, or getting a japanese one (or playing it on an emulator). I'm actually not a fan of bleach. I watched the first ten episodes and got tired of how over-powered Ichigo was (in the show), and that all these characters they introduced with powers (Orihime, Guy with Punching move, Guy with Bow and Arrow) did basically nothing and it was all "OH! LOOK HOW AWESOME ICHIGO IS!" but I also don't like Naruto in the slightest but I still have Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 on the PS3, and played the crap out of that. Oddly enough, I think Bleach Versus Crusade seems more ninja like than the Naruto fighting game. Also, there was a Bleach fighting game called "Shattered Blade" which was not made by Treasure and when I played it at a friends house, looked much more silly with the characters (especially Orihime) just slapping the air at mach 50 when you wave the wiimote around. I did like Orihime in the anime if you couldnt tell. She probably gets really annoying and even more useless later in the series but she was entertaining at the start when she didnt have the Soul powers.
I'll keep an eye out for Sin and Punishment. Any recommendations on which Shmups I should look for? I've actually played a fair bit of Shmups. (Perfect Cherry Blossom, Embodiment of the scarlett Devil, Castle of Shikigami III, Deathsmiles, Espgaluda II, Mushihimesama Futari, Sugari) so don't think I'm a noob when it comes to them. Yes, I've played these games on the hardest difficulty (except Sugari)

Oh yeah. I also remember hearing that the western version of SM was made way harder by Working Designs when they published it over here.
The DS has no region coding. The Wii, Wii U, and 3DS do. It's super easy to mod a Wii if you're interested. You just download the homebrew files onto an SD card and then do whatever the latest hack is to get those files installed on the system. I don't endorse piracy, but I fully support people wanting to try mods and import games.
I think the Treasure Bleach games are the only good ones. There's also the 2 Jump Superstar games that are really good and have some Bleach in there. I stopped reading the bleach manga a couple years ago. Orihime became a more serious character and was even captured at one point. I used to watch Naruto but just couldn't take all of the boring filler.
It sounds like you are a fan of the Cave style bullet hell shooters. I would definitely check out Dodonpachi (any of them). Ketsui and Ibara are probably my 2 favorite cave shooters. You can grab Ikaruga and Crimson Clover on Steam for pretty cheap. If you have a Wii, definitely download R-type III. Again, Gradius V is my all time favorite.

I think I heard something round the same lines, but whether its true or not, SM is a difficult game but still really fun.
It doesnt? Really? The only Japanese DS game I've played is Super Robot Wars K and thats on an emulator. I'm gonna track down a physical copy in that case. I Know you can download stuff onto an SD card to play mods. I've played Project M (a Smash Bros Brawl mod) but thats the only time I've heard of that. At any rate, if my SD cards can hold the files, and if I ever feel bothered, I'll try and get it.
Yeah, they're getting released over here as well. I was planning to get the vita version of one of them at some point in time. I know the Vita has no region coding on it but it doesnt hurt to find an english copy. It has quite the large variety of characters, which is nice. I didn't watch Bleach past the first 10 episodes, like I said. They were in the middle of saving Rukia from the soul society, but I couldn't be bothered. I did hear that Orihime got kidnapped at some point, by people, and that one of the later arcs was a copy of the one I was watching (someone gets kidnapped, Ichigo has to unlock a new power which was the shinigami or hollow powers respectively). My friend watched Bleach a fair bit as well but he doesn't like Orihime as much. I never watched Naruto. My friend had me watch one episode which was just a really long fight scene (Sasuke and the gang vs Killer bee) but even then, the dialogue was so hillariously bad I pretty much went "haha, uh no." The video game, despite giving you alot of backstory on the season up until the point it was at (which was, coincidentally, immediately after Sasuke fought Killer bee. the Great Ninja war or whatever), still kinda figured you knew and cared about all these characters, which I didnt. Naruto seemed to have a problem with having so many cool ideas for Jutsus and eye powers and attacks, but then they focus on Naruto. I mean, in another Naruto game, there was a guy with Six arms who shot webs! I could probably make a movelist for him in five minutes just given that idea, but no, apparently he appeared so little in the show that he was an assist only character. There's also Hinata (who is known for being pretty much useless throughout the series) who has eyes that can see in (almost) every single direction around her. Do you even realize how helpful of an ability that would be for a Ninja? I know she and Neji sometimes used it to scan a large area at once for stuff, I'm not even sure that thought about it more than "oh, its a cool ability." Even without the whole "reading Chakra flow" whatever the hell thing that those eyes come with, being able to see in every direction at once would be EXCEPTIONALLY useful. Not to mention that it apparently extends for several miles.
Likely all the cave games are on there more from coincidence than anything, but Bullet hells are fun. After you get past the "HOLY CRAP! WHY ALL THE BULLETS! AAAAAAH!" factor and learn that you're hitbox is really small, they're not as hard as they look generally....sometimes. I would not have seen the second level of mushi-blah-blah futari if you didnt have infinite lives in that game. I'll keep an eye out for Gradius V. I know a good store with alot of rare games (I got a physical copy of Sillohuette Mirage for Playstation there), so next time I go there, I'll keep an eye open. At least Dodonpachi will probably easy to find downloads of online

Well if you have homebrew to play project M, you may already have gecko (which lets you play imports).
I'm not sure how you got to Soul Society during the first 10 episodes since the first arc takes place in the real world. Either way, the Bleach story is dumb and the author himself has admitted it.
Naruto actually has a really good story with good characters. I may go back and read the manga someday. It's kind of silly to criticize something's story when you haven't actually experienced it for yourself. Usually the deeper the character, the less ridiculous their design (since that's all they have going for them). Though much like Bleach, the anime has issues. I'd suggest watching in Japanese to get past how the dialogue sounds in english.

I didnt download Project M, I just played it at a Smash tourney at the school. Good to know the name of something to look up though.
Well, whatever the number was. I watched the episodes where he was in the real world, then he went to the soul society, then he stopped watching. This was years ago so 'scuse me if I don't remember the exact number of episodes I was. At least he knows he knows it.
I'm not sure how much better the story would be without the english. At any rate, I don't want to have to go through the 20 trillion episodes needed to get through everything. True, I don't know too much about the story, but I'm not really interested enough to actually get into it. I'm way too lazy when it comes to watching even short anime and I haven't been watching alot recently anyways. I'm fully aware that Naruto has some cool fights scenes though.

I love how this idle stance is so unpredictable and energetic. It really seems like it'd wear the enemy out from them trying to anticipate and prepare for one type of attack and yet a different kind comes. On top of that, it also makes you unsure of if and when he'll start running and jumping around.

While I agree that this is a rather unorthodox idle stance, I can also see how it could be made use of. There's no way his opponent is going to be able to anticipate the HEIGHT of his next attack, whether it be low, mid or high. It'd be quite disorienting.

Well the idea is you won't stand in that position for too long and it will transition into a standing one after around 5-10 seconds. It's based off of a hunched over style of Silat with a sort of dance rhythm to it.
I do agree that it's a little weird in how much he's bouncing though.
